Thousands of new listeners for Q Radio give station its highest recorded figure to date
Latest figures from radio industry body RAJAR have shown that an additional 14,000 people are listening to the Q Radio network across Northern Ireland on a weekly basis.
The RAJAR results for quarter four of 2016 confirm that a total of 272,000 listeners tune in to Q Radio stations each week, in the station’s highest recorded figure to date.
Q Radio listeners are tuning in for an average of 6.9 hours per week, with 57% of the listeners in the key 25-44 year old demographic.
Robert Walshe, Managing Director of Q Radio said: “I’m hugely encouraged by the RAJAR figures across Northern Ireland’s commercial stations. Our collective reach and listener hours are steadily growing, demonstrating that local commercial radio is a force to be reckoned with.
“We are confident that we can grow our share of the market further. It’s still relatively early days for the new Q nationwide brand and we have serious plans for further expansion and development.
“We’re very positive and excited about what the future holds for this dynamic young brand,” he added.
Q Radio has stations based in Belfast, Derry, Newry and Mourne, Omagh, Mid Ulster, Ballymena and the Causeway Coast.
